Sketch - Zech Pose

Doodle done during a Dungeons and Dragons game.
The lovechild character Zech, doing a pose similar to Ezreal.

Sketch and Color - New character idea

So this was something random that I tried to have some fun with, a character concept that is a combination (or ‘lovechild’) between my character Gene and Yark’s character Lan.

This was a random idea, but I thought it was something fun that I could give a try. I do like how he turned out, though I still think he looks more like Gene than Lan, but it’s a starting point if nothing else.

He also has Ezreal’s magic amulet/gauntlet thing.  I dunno why, but I thought it was a fun idea, heh.

He still needs a name though, but I’m not sure what yet (I kinda like Zechs).

Sketch - Gene Leap Poses

Some more action pose practice with Gene.
I seem to use Gene a lot for action poses like this, I guess it does make sense considering how he is.

The first pose though I don’t think is all that good. I wanted to go for a running leap kind of pose, and I just don’t think it worked out well here. I like it, but not one of the best attempts.

The second one I like a lot more. I tried working with a slightly different style and a different angle, and I think it turned out a lot better.
There are some issues with anatomy ad such, but still, I like this one a lot more.

Sketches - Mariachi Eye-Brawl

A while ago, when sitting in a restaurant, my sister told me that I should draw the Skylanders character Eye-Brawl wearing a mariachi hat (since that is one of the collectable hats you can earn in the game), and so I did (with a random gust appearance from Cipher below).
The first sketch is the original, and I had done it completely from memory, so it was pretty inaccurate.

However, the idea was just a lot of fun, so I decided to give it another try, this time a bit more accurate and bit cleaner as well, so here we.
Eye-Brawl with a mariachi hat. Olé!

Sketch - Shiz Bahamut

Just a small sketch I did for fun (and for morale), this is Bahamut dressed similarly to a friend’s character; Shiz the Chimera.

Sketch - Zack's Laid Back

Another small doodle from the DnD game, Zack just relaxing a bit.

…I can see him doing that in midair.

Sketches - Golem Concepts

Art is still being slow, but I was actually able to do some small sketches during my DnD game on Saturday, so here are two designs for two golem characters, based on Dollmancer’s world/setting.

First one is a design based on a character that I never really did much with, this is Ash and she’s an armadillo. She’s actually based on the second plush toy I actually made, so she is a white, red and brown armadillo golem.

The second design is actually a preliminary design for the dragon/thunder bird golem I was able to reserve for Dolly’s design challenge.
She should be a lot of fun, I’m drawing a lot of ideas based on the coatl and the Aztecs, so hopefully I will get her design down soon.

Sketch and Color - Child Bahamut

From the journal of Sir Forge; member of the Zenethia Council~

‘When we first found the child, we didn’t know what to think; he was very ragged looking with dirty fur and tattered clothing who seemed to hang around this older, grumpy dragon.  When we did finally get them to come with us, we didn’t know what we would discover.

We were first taken aback that the young one had blue fur rather than black like we expected; but we were all surprised at the fact that he looked so much like the prince.

We were then surprised at how injured he had been; his body had quite a few scars on him; we have no idea what had happened to him and he really didn’t seem to want to tell us any details.
In fact, he seemed very hesitant to let our healers look him over at all, and he outright refused when they went to examine his feet.

The thing that troubles us the most are the strange collar and cuffs he wears. Again, the boy was hesitant but we were able to see that the items seemed to be a solid piece of some kind of metal; there was no break or latch anywhere. I would assume some kind of magic, but Masamune will be able to tell us more.

What I find strange is that the older dragon that was with the child has a similar collar. There must be some kind of connection, but neither seem willing to tell us.

The child did finally tell us his name, and I have a hard time believing that this is just mere coincidence; the fur coloring, the eyes, the age, even his name, it is so much like the missing prince…’

A simple posting today: a small thing that I did for fun; little child Bahamut.

I guess this is a bit of ‘art therapy’; even though I have art to work on for people, I’ve been feeling really down and kinda depressed so I was hoping that this would be a little fun and a bit of a distraction.

The story bit was just something I did for fun since it kind of lingered in my mind while I was working on this.

Sketch and Color - Aumanil

I was able to do another art trade with Dollmancer a while back, and I asked her to design a golem for me (alchemical golems are interesting creatures in her own setting), and she designed a very awesome Chimeric Dragon for me.

So, I had to draw him on my own, which allowed me to figure out some things about him; like his name, his clothing, his story and such.

And so, here is Aumanil.

Aumanil is an alchemical golem created by a man named Jacob Borrice; who became obsessed with alchemy after he lost his wife and young son in an accident, so Aumanil sort of became the ‘son’ that he lost.
Aumanil is a very happy, cheerful and optimistic critter, very happy to help out when and where he can for Jacob or for any of his friends.  He seems to enjoy snow or cold weather in general, so it would not be unusual to see him dressed normally like this in the cold weather.

One unusual thing about him that neither he or Jacob can explain is that his belly scales seem to glow, the effects looking very much like the Aurora Borealis.  Jacob thinks it may have something to do with what he used to create Aumanil, but he really can’t say for certain.

Aumanil isn’t too fussy about what he wears, but one thing he always has on him is the rough crystal pendant he wears around his neck; a very personal gift that Jacob game him.
I really love how he turned out here, though I may play around with his clothing and clothing colors, but overall, I’m happy with how this turned out, he really is a fun character and I do owe a lot of thnaks to Dollmancer.

Sketch - Derp and Confused

These are some very bad sketches I did a couple of weeks ago that I’m finally posting.

The first one…I have no idea what I was trying to do, but the little fella just…I really don’t know.  I nicknamed him Derpy Dragon.

The second one was another random doodle and the way it turned out she looks like she’s looking at derpy with a confused look.

Sketch - Odd Adrian

An odd, and frankly awful, sketch with Adrian.
Dunno what I was going for this, I was just trying to do something and it didn’t work out.

Sketch - Little Runic

A really awful doodle of Runic Guardian.
I dunno, I think I wanted to play around with some different style, but it kinda blew up in my face.
