Sketch and Color - Bahamut and his Pipe

This was a small sketch I decided to do for the fun of it; steampunk Bahamut lighting up a pipe; inspired by a picture of Abney Park’s Captain Roberts.

Sketch and Color - Unknown Engineer

Some time ago I sat down and did some random concept sketches for steampunk-themed characters who could be part of the crew of Bahamut's airship, so I decided to finally sit down and throw some color on one of them.

This one was originally a wolf concept, but after looking at the sketch I realized I made him a hybrid; a hybrid of a wolf and something else though I'm not too sure what the something else is yet.
I've done some modifications and changes here and there and overall, I'm quite happy with his final look here.

So far this character is without a name. He's an engineer onboard the airship 'Arvanche' and one of the first to join the crew, though honestly he's not exactly an 'expert' as it were, but he's a fast learner and a quick-thinker, good to have on hand.

Character Design - Xiomara

I am currently working on a project for someone and slowly making progress. One of the things that I need to do is work on character designs for three different draconian characters, so I decided to show off one of the concepts here for the heck of it.

The character’s name is Xiomara and she’s a mage, her weapon/staff is actually a chinese halberd known as a Ji (by request of the commissioner) with a jewel is in the center of the weapon head that acts as her implement focus.

The design though is not final, so there will probably be some design changes later on.

Sketch and Color - Gene Style Test

While trying to work on some more sketches, I wanted to try and play around with a different style again, something a bit more simple/cartoon-y and since it's been a while since I did something with Gene, I used him has my test subject.
And here is the result.

I have to admit, I kind of like how it turned out in the end, nothing too crazy and the look isn't all that bad.
Again, I have to thank my friend Yark for some inspiration.

Sketch and Color - Alakazam

I am not a huge Pokemon person, but I do like many of their designs. For the fun of it (and after discovering the 'creepypasta' Lost Silver and getting creeped out) I decided to sit down and work on Alakazam here; one of my personal favorites, but as well as giving it my own look.

My first attempt at drawing this Pokemon and overall I'm happy with the look. The posing bugs me but overall the look is decent.

Not really sure on the shading though, I wanted to keep it simple here, but there is something about it that bugs me.

Sketch and Color - MOD-314

Name: Flint Conners
Designation: MOD-314
Height: 6'7
Weight: 280 lbs.
Mod Type: Armadillo
Mod Percentage: 80%

This is another modified human or "mod" that fits into my friend pretiossissime's setting.

Flint Conners was a Corporal in the US Army before he was forced into a modification experiment; an experiment not only to see if they could create an improved soldier, but also to see how far one could take the modification process, so Flint is probably the most heavily modified human out there.

The problem was that he was still in the lab when "things went bad", so he was kept imprisoned and used for all kinds of different torturous experiments until he finally managed to escape.
No one is quite sure where he is or what he's doing; staying in hiding to avoid those who might still be looking for him, though he might be out there helping out any other mods that are being hunted or harassed.

I had fun with this guy. I really had fun working on his design as well as playing with a bit of a different body type, so I'm very pleased with his final look.
I will need to sit down and work more on his story, the setting seems really interesting and I'm not quite sure how he'll fit into everything.

Character Sketch - Raptor Guy

I have to apologize for taking so long to getting back to posting anything art related, been getting to sketches slowly and doing a lot more colored work, so I will slowly be getting back to posting some stuff again.

This offering today is a random sketch I working on, and random is right since I had absolutely no direction and just started working on something, resulting in this raptor-like character.

Oddly enough, while working on this, it did make me think of AstroZerk's art since she does some awesome work with dinosaur-like characters, so maybe I was subliminally influenced for this guy.

I may do more with him, it's hard to say, but we'll see.

Sketch and Color - Vandal

It's been a while since I did anything with my character Vandal, so while doing a bunch of sketches, I decided that it was time to do something different and I decided to work on Vandal.

There were several sketches I did with him, but they were kind of...blah (I may post them, not sure yet).  After suffering from frustration and lack of motivation, that really didn't help, but then I managed to sketch this one out, and I think that helped boost me up a little.

I knew I had to color it; it had been forever since I did any kind of color-work for Vandal so this was a good way to bring him back in and I'm very pleased with the final result. Sometimes the simplest stuff bring you the most joy.

Gift Art - Keetah Spcecat

This is some gift art to Keetah-Spacecat, because she's awesome.

It's been a while since I did a feral character, and wow, it feels like I really messed up. I think this was deceptively simple, so I ended up messing up a little, but in the end I do like how it turned out.  I hope Keetah will like it as well.

Also done in SAI.

Gift Art - Clockwork

This is some gift art to Icarus (of Inhuman fame). Because he's awesome.

This is of his character Clockwork, a dragon/armadillo hybrid.  The concept really seemed nifty to me, so I wanted to try and give him a try. Problem was that from the references I looked at, it seemed like there were different ways to draw him, so I just tried my best with my own take on him.  Hope you don't mind, Icarus.

Still, this was fun, an interesting idea that turned out nice and simple.

Sketch and Color - Slatepaw Kobold

This was something I did just for the heck of it; this is a random Slatepaw kobold I drew up for fun and worked on during the last livestream.
Slatepaw kobolds are the creation of Adalore, I really like how they look so I finally decided to sit down and draw one for the heck of it.

I based the armor off some of the designs he's done before, just something nice and simple, I'm guessing he could be a member of the militia or such.

Done in SAI.

Slatepaw Kobolds are (c) Adalore.
